Don’t give up on your 2025 goals just yet! January is tough—it’s cold, it’s dark, and your enthusiasm for that “new year, new me” energy might already feel like it’s circling the drain. I get it.
Every January, I do my health reset—hitting my macros, cutting back on wine, cranking up my workouts, and prioritizing sleep. And every January, I find myself thinking, Why am I not seeing results yet? Spoiler alert: transformation takes time.
Here’s what I’ve learned: motivation is overrated—commitment and consistency are where the magic happens. Most days, I’m not particularly motivated to work out. And I definitely don’t wake up at 5 a.m. to crush it. The only time I’m up that early is if I have an international flight or if I have to go to the bathroom. “Experts” (you know all the people on the internet telling you how to live your life 😉) often say, “Get up at 5 a.m., meditate, write, work on your goals, and exercise before your kids wake up.” So, I tried it—for weeks—and guess what? For me, it sucked. I was just exhausted.

Here’s the real deal: there’s no one-size-fits-all formula for success. You have to find what works for you. Maybe it’s an early morning routine, maybe it’s not. For me, it’s about finding my rhythm, showing up when I say I will, and staying consistent.
Here are a few tips to help you keep showing up:
Trust the process: Progress is happening even if you can’t see it yet.
Celebrate small wins: Every healthy choice and every extra step forward counts.
Find what works for you: Ignore the advice that doesn’t fit your life. You don’t have to be part of the 5 a.m. club to succeed.
Focus on commitment, not motivation: Motivation is fleeting, but commitment gets the job done.
One of my favorite quotes by Michelangelo says it best: “I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free.” It took him three years to carve the Statue of David—three years of chipping away, trusting the process, and showing up. Transformation doesn’t happen overnight, but every little action moves you closer to your masterpiece.
So, keep chipping away. Don’t let January get the best of you. You’re closer than you think!
We’ve got this—one day, one choice, one step at a time.
xoxo,
Tara
