The Future of Work isn't AI vs Humans ...It's This

We can all feel it.

AI is moving fast.

Really fast.

And if we’re honest… there’s a quiet question sitting underneath it all:

“Will I be replaced?”

It’s showing up everywhere -

in boardrooms,

in group chats,

on college visits with our kids.

What should they major in?

What skills will matter?

What will even exist in 5–10 years?

The fear is real.

But here’s the truth no one is talking about enough:

AI may replace skills… but it will never replace YOU.

Let me explain.

AI can generate content.

It can analyze data.

It can automate tasks.

But it cannot:

  • build trust in a room

  • read energy in a conversation

  • lead with empathy

  • navigate conflict with care

  • inspire someone to believe in themselves

  • create connection that actually changes someone

That’s the human edge. And in a world that is becoming more automated…

your humanity becomes your greatest advantage.

This is where emotional intelligence changes everything. Because the future won’t belong to the most technical person in the room.

It will belong to the person who can:

  • understand people

  • connect people

  • lead people

  • elevate people

The one who can walk into a room and make others feel seen, heard, and valued.

The one who knows how to regulate their emotions, stay curious, and respond instead of react.

The one who chooses how they show up.

And that’s why this matters so much to me.

Because “Be Who You Came to Be” has never been more relevant.

You didn’t come here to compete with technology.

You came here to: lead, connect, create, and impact in a way only YOU can.

Over the next several weeks, I’m going to share what I call:

The Human Edge Series

Each week, we’ll break down one powerful edge that AI cannot replicate.

Things like:

  • Emotional Intelligence

  • Curiosity

  • Connection

  • Courage

  • Authenticity

  • Adaptability

Because these aren’t just “soft skills.” They are the skills that will separate those who thrive… from those who get left behind. And if you’re leading a team, a company, or a culture…

This isn’t optional.

Because when people know they matter, culture thrives, innovation ignites, and results follow.

So here’s your question this week: What is YOUR human edge?

And are you developing it… as intentionally as the world is developing AI?

We don’t need to fear the future.

We need to own our place in it.

Be who you came to be.

Love will guide you.

xoxo — Tara

PS: This Human Edge Series is part of a keynote I’m sharing with organizations across the country right now - helping teams future-proof their leadership, culture, and performance in the age of AI. If this resonates, let’s connect.
