Reignite Your Spark

Have you noticed how in life the advice eventually stops?

Finish high school. Go to college or get a job. Find a career. Get married (or don’t). Have a couple of kids (or not). Maybe add a pet.

By the time we reach our late 20s and 30s, society acts like the roadmap is complete - like we should have it all “figured out.” No wonder so many people feel stalled in midlife. They think they should already be who they came to be.

But here’s the truth: being who you came to be isn’t a destination, it’s a journey.

When I ask people who they compare themselves to, I often hear: “the person I thought I’d be by now.” That breaks my heart. Because life isn’t measured by where we thought we’d be …it’s created one day at a time.

Being who you came to be is a daily practice:

  • of self-discovery

  • of honoring passions

  • of taking risks

  • of giving yourself permission to keep growing

So how do we reignite the spark we had when we were 18 or 24, dreaming about how incredible life would be?

Start with one simple question: What do you love?

When my grandmother left my newborn son a note, she wrote: “Be who you came to be. LOVE will guide you.”

Love is the guide back to yourself. Make a list of things you love - cooking, moving your body, painting, traveling, writing, anything. Then pick one and lean into it. This is how you’ll find your butterfly goal …that big, beautiful goal that feels both exciting and a little terrifying. A butterfly goal stretches you, pulls you forward, and reminds you that you are still becoming.

This is where emotional intelligence comes in.

It takes self-awareness to notice when you’re on autopilot.

It takes optimism to believe you can create something new.

It takes self-regard to honor your worth.

And it takes courage to start again.

So this week, give yourself permission to reignite one passion. Let love guide you. Set your butterfly free.

Because you’re not finished - you’re ALWAYS becoming who you came to be.

Declare it and share it. I’d love to know what you’re up to – send me back a note with what YOU LOVE and what your butterfly goal is. I got you – I believe in you.

Keep Shining–Be who you came to be.

xoxo, Tara
